      Hon Bimal Rathnayake,— To ask the Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development,—

      (a) Is he aware that—

      (i) earth has been removed up to 4 feet on the left and right banks of Kelani river at Raggahawatta area in Kaduwela and concrete pillars constructed in constructing the outer Colombo circular road; and

      (ii) Raggahawatta and Hewagama areas which suffer from floods every year will suffer ever severely owing to this reason?

      (b) Will he inform this House whether banks that were cut would be brought back to their previous state in order to prevent the people in the area from being harmed by severe floods that would occur owing to the river banks being cut?

      (c) If not, why?
