Hon. Ananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the total number of drinking water supply projects that have been implemented in Kandy District from the date the good governance government came into power to date;
(ii) of the areas in which the aforesaid water supply projects are located and of the number of consumers under those projects;
(iii) of the number of persons who have applied for obtaining water supply in the Nawalapitiya electoral area in 2017, and out of them, of the number of those to whom water supply has been given at present;
(iv) whether he would admit that many people living in Ganga Ihala Divisional Secretariat Division in Nawalapitiya electorate are faced with severe difficulties and inconveniences due to the lack of drinking water; and
(v) whether action will be taken to solve the drinking water problem of those people promptly?
(b) If not, why?
