To ask the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management,—
Is he aware that—
the Deduru Oya Scheme, initiated under the scheme of developing 10 rivers simultaneously, under the Mahinda Chinthana Programme, is a highly successful scheme ;
and the development activities of the Sengal Oya scheme, coming under the Deduru oya scheme have been stalled?
Will he inform this House—
the number of tanks in the Puttalam district fed by the waters of the Deduru oya schem ;
the names of those tanks ;
whether irrigation schemes will be constructed in relation to those tanks ;
the extent in the Puttalam district that is fed by these irrigation schemes ;
the time that will be taken to complete that scheme ;
and whether steps will be taken to complete this scheme expeditiously?
If not, why?
