Hon. Yadamini Gunawardena,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that the amount remitted by Sri Lankan migrant workers by now is much higher than the amount that was remitted three decades earlier;
(ii) the top ten foreign countries and the top ten foreign cities with the highest numbers of Sri Lankan migrant workers, separately;
(iii) the top ten foreign countries and the top ten foreign cities with the highest number of Sri Lankans remitting;
(iv) the top ten foreign countries and the top ten foreign cities with the highest remittances to Sri Lanka; and
(v) whether there are banks or financial institutions approved by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to remit from foreign countries?
(b) If not, why?
