Hon. Hector Appuhamy,— To ask the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that human trafficking involving the transporting of Sri Lankan women to countries such as Oman and Dubai is in operation;
(ii) whether he admits that the involvement of the employees of the Sri Lankan embassies established in the said countries in this racket has been revealed;
(iii) if so, of the name, position and the place of employment of each of those employees, separately;
(iv) of the measures that will be taken against those employees; and
(v) of the measures that will be taken to improve the camaraderie between the Sri Lanka expatriate workers and the employees of the Sri Lankan embassies established in those countries?
(b) If not, why?
