      Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of External Affairs,—

      (a) Will he state—

      (i) as to when the first meeting was officially held with the State Secretary of the U.S.A. prior to the bringing of a resolution against Sri Lanka to the Human Rights Council in Geneva in March 2012;

      (ii) the matters discussed at the aforesaid meeting;

      (iii) whether it had been envisaged after the above meeting that the U.S.A. would have brought a resolution as per above ; and

      (iv) whether the negligence, the arrogance and incompetence caused the  losing of the aforesaid resolution in Sri Lankan point of view?

      (b) Will he also state—

      (i) the corrective measures taken todate in relation to the resolution passed in Geneva ;

      (ii) as to why the government consented to meet Mrs. Hilary Clinton ,State Secretary of the USA on 18th  May 2012 changing its  stand otherwise; and

      (iii) the matters discussed there and the matters that are being implemented now as per the  outcome of the said meeting?

      (c) If not why?
