Hon. Rajeevan Jeyachandramoorthy,— To ask the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the total number of mob violence or mob-lynching incidents reported to the Sri Lanka Police and the number of cases prosecuted under the Penal Code or Prevention of Terrorism or Public Security related laws in each year since 2020 to date, separately in provincial wise;
(ii) of the steps taken to ensure uniform implementation of laws and legal procedures concerning mob violence across all provinces, including any directives issued to the Sri Lanka Police and local administration;
(iii) whether the Ministry has identified any high-risk districts or areas vulnerable to mob violence; and
(iv) if so, of the interventions under taken in such districts/areas to prevent future incidents of mob violance?
(b) If not, why?
