      Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of External Affairs,—

      (a) Will he state whether —

      (i) the Sri Lankan  Government in recent past had embarrassing moments  due to apparently negative international media campaigns pursued against the country;

      (ii) the  ‘Channel 4’ in UK was doing such campaigns in 2010, 2011 and 2012 (February-March);

      (iii) any action has been taken against ‘Channel 4’ in UK in that regard as mentioned by the Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe in 2010; and

      (iv) the LLRC has referred to the telecasting of ‘Channel 4’  regarding Sri Lanka?

      (b) Will he inform this House—

      (i) of the corrective actions taken by the Sri Lankan Government regarding the aforesaid negative media campaign of ‘Channel 4’ ;

      (ii) if not, the reasons for not doing so;

      (iii) of the person or organisation that  keeps tab of anti- Sri Lankan media campaigns worldwide;

      (iv) whether there has been any other campaign of that nature against Sri Lanka; and

      (v) the corrective measures taken regarding the  consideration of ‘Channel 4’ telecasting by the LLRC?

      (c) If not, why?
