Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the total number of government hospitals in the Colombo District at present;
(ii) separately the number of doctors, nurses, attendants, labourers and officers in other grades that should be in the approved cadre for each of the aforesaid hospitals;
(iii) the numbers of staff, in relation to each of the above positions, who serve in those hospitals at present;
(iv) whether steps will be taken to fill the vacancies in aforesaid hospitals, if any;
(v) if so, the period of time within which it will be done; and
(vi) if there is excess staff in aforesaid hospitals, the tasks for which they will be deployed?
(b) If not, why ?
