Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the Company from which Blood Glucose Test Strips, which are used to examine the glucose level of diabetic patients, were purchased for government hospitals from June 2013;
(ii) the number of test strips purchased from the aforesaid company;
(iii) the purchasing price of a Glucose Test Strip mentioned above;
(iv) whether it has been reported that there is a shortage of Glucose Test Strips or they are completely unavailable in government hospitals from August 2013; and
(v) if so, the reasons for it?
(b) If not, why?
