Hon. (Mrs.) Anoma Gamage,— To ask the Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the amount of paddy that was stocked in the paddy warehouses in the island by the end of August 2013;
(ii) whether that stock of paddy was purchased during the last Maha season;
(iii) if not, whether even older stocks of paddy were stored in those warehouses; and
(iv) of the reasons for not issuing those stocks of paddy for the consumption of the people?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the expected paddy harvest for the Yala season of 2013;
(ii) whether the purchasing and storing of that paddy harvest was planned; and
(iii) of the details of that programme?
(c) If not, why?
