Hon. Eran Wickramaratne,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Planning,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the number of liquor licenses issued by the Department of Excise from January to September of the year 2013; and
(ii) the total excise duty collected from the companies to whom the liquor licenses have been issued for the period from January 2008 to September 2013, on per year basis?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there are any companies to whom liquor licenses have been issued, have defaulted in the payment of excise duties, as of years 2012 and 2013 ;
(ii) if so, the names of such companies who have so defaulted;
(iii) the total amount of excise duty arrears due from each of the aforesaid companies;
(iv) whether the Department of Excise has renewed the liquor licenses for any of the companies so mentioned; and
(v) if so, the names of such companies?
(c) If not, why?
