      Hon.   (Al-Haj)  A. H. M. Azwer,— To ask the Minister of Wildlife Resources Conservation,—

      (a) Is  he aware that—

      (i) banana, coconut and other agricultural crops in the Periyamadu agricultural village in the Mannar District are destroyed due to  wild elephant attacks; and

      (ii) the people in that village live in fear of wild elephant attacks?

      (b) Will he state whether action will be taken to eliminate the danger of wild elephant attacks faced by the villagers in Periyamadu ?

      (c) If not, why?
