Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of retired public servants on the waiting list to obtain the gratuity from the Department of Pensions as at January 2014;
(ii) whether there is a delay in making gratuity payments to them;
(iii) if so, of the reasons for that; and
(iv) of the amount allocated annually by the Treasury to make gratuity payments to the retired public servants?
(b) Will he state—
(i) whether action will be taken as per Pensions Circular No. 2/2014, to make the gratuity payments made through the Department of Pensions up to now through banks in future; and
(ii) if so, the reasons for that?
(c) If not, why?
