Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Minister of Sports,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a group of labourers recruited to permanent service at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on 28.02.2006 have been removed from service on 31.12.2011;
(ii) they have been paid Rs. 250,000.00 as compensation;
(iii) Sri Lanka Cricket has given a pledge before the court that the above said workers would be given priority in filling the vacancies at the said stadium; and
(iv) despite that pledge, 24 persons of the Civil Defence Force have been recruited to serve at that stadium?
(b) Will he table the names of the labourers mentioned in (a)(i) above?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the total number of employees serving at that stadium;
(ii) of the monthly salary paid to the employees who were removed from service;
(iii) of the reasons that caused their removal from service;
(iv) of the date on which a special interview was held to recruit the personnel mentioned in (a) (iv) above;
(v) whether he admits that severe injustice has been caused to the personnel removed from service as they were not given priority in recruiting again; and
(vi) if so, of the measures that will be taken in that regard?
(d) If not, why?
