Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the policy that is adopted in considering the applications that are submitted to obtain dual citizenships by the persons whose Sri Lankan citizenships have been cancelled for the reason of having the citizenship of another country, later on;
(ii) whether he is aware that there is a delay in taking the aforesaid applications into account;
(iii) the measures that are taken to avoid such delays;
(iv) the number of applications that have been submitted for the purpose of obtaining dual citizenship and the number of applications that have not been considered by now; and
(v) the number of persons to whom the dual citizenships have been granted since 01.01.2010?
(b) If not, why?
