Hon. John Amaratunga,— To ask the Minister of Lands and Land Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House of—
(i) the number of families settled down without permission in state lands in Nawammahara village in No.179, Elapitiwala Grama Niladhari Division in Wattala Divisional Secretariat Division; and
(ii) the names of the chief occupant of households of the aforesaid unauthorized settlers?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the reasons for not taking action to issue them with permanent deeds or temporary permits to date despite that most of those families have been living in the aforesaid village for over 20 years;
(ii) whether permanent deeds will be issued to the aforesaid families for the lands they are living in;
(iii) if so, the action that has been taken with regard to that;
(iv) whether temporary permits will be issued until permanent deeds are issued; and
(v) if so, the date on which such permits will be issued?
(c) If not, why?
