Hon.Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. J. G. Jayantha of Samagi Mawatha, Wellakka, Weligama has joined the Sri Lanka Transport Board on 26.07.2000 as a Conductor and attached to the SLTB Depot Akuressa and retired due to his illness on 01.01.2015 on medical grounds with an unblemished service record of 15 years; and
(ii) the gratuity payment which should be paid to him at the time of retirement has not been paid up to now despite several requests made for the last one year to the relevant authorities?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether this gratuity payment would be paid in full without any delay; and
(ii) if so, the date on which the payment will be made?
(c) If not, why?
