Hon. J. M. Ananda Kumarasiri,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he admit that—
(i) the forests which are not coming under the purview of the Department of Forest Conservation and the Department of Wildlife Conservation were administered by Divisional Secretaries/Assistant Government Agents/ Divisional Revenue Officers prior to 2001;
(ii) all such lands were transferred to the Forest Conservator under Circular No. 05/2001;
(iii) circular No. 02/2006 was issued exempting lands essential for emergency needs of the government from Circular No. 05/2001; and
(iv) circular No. 02/2006 has provided for the release of lands for development needs of the government by a committee established under the patronage of Government Agent and District Secretary?
(b) Will he inform this House whether he tables Circular No. 05/2001 and No. 02/2006 ?
(c) If not, why?
