Hon. Wimalaweera Dissanayaka,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that the members of the Civil Security Forces are called from far away areas to be deployed in different services in Colombo or suburbs?
(b) Will he admit that—
(i) in addition to the salary, an subsistence allowance is paid to a certain group of the members of the Department of Civil Security who are so called and deployed in different services;
(ii) a group of other members who are so deployed in the said services under equivalent conditions are not provided with the said subsistence allowance; and
(iii) accordingly, it is not fair to discriminate the aforesaid group of members of the Civil Security Force who are under equivalent services and conditions?
(a) If so, will he inform this House whether steps will be taken to provide a reasonable subsistence allowance to the members who are thus treated unfairly?
(b) If not, why?
