Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayathissa,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Shipping,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the names of the companies which handle container operations at Colombo harbour;
(ii) of the date on which the agreement between SAGT Company and the Government of Sri Lanka was signed;
(iii) whether the aforesaid agreement will be tabled;
(iv) of the date on which the agreement between CICT Company and the Government of Sri Lanka was signed;
(v) whether the aforesaid agreement will be tabled;
(vi) of the reasons for assigning the operation of containers at Colombo harbour to the aforesaid companies;
(vii) separately on per year basis the number of containers handled by Sri Lanka Ports Authority, SAGT Company and CICT Company from the year 1998 to date; and
(viii) separately on per year basis the percentage of the number of containers handled by each company out of the total number of containers handled?
(b) If not, why?
