Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration and Management,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) many public servants sought refuge in foreign countries as a result of the extraordinary situation that prevailed during the war;
(ii) the war was in its height when the Public Administration Circular No.4/2006 dated 16.02.2006 was issued to provide them relief;
(iii) many were not aware of this relief measure as only a short period of two months had been given to appeal for such relief as per the Circular No.4/2006 (1) dated 31.10.2013;
(iv) reports from the security forces were demanded when appeals were rejected; and
(v) many who were affected by this situation did not get relief?
(b) Will he inform this house whether steps will be taken to—
(i) after granting a period of about 5 months within the peaceful situation that prevail at present and give publicity to the matter ;
(ii) appoint an investigation committee with the representation of affected persons;
(iii) stop the intervention by the security forces; and
