Hon. K. Kader Masthan,—To ask the Minister of Lands,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) 700 families displaced by the war from Jaffna and Vavuniya areas live in the village called Thirunawatkulam belonging to the Thandikkulam Grama Niladhari Division in the Vavuniya District at present; and
(ii) although they have constructed permanent houses on the lands granted to them during the period 1995/96 and live in them, no title deed has been awarded to them in respect of the lands concerned?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the measures, taken by the government so far to award them title deeds for the lands; and
(ii) of the solutions made by the government to give a permanent solution to issues pertaining to these lands?
(c) If not, why?
