Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayathissa,—To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he admit that —
(i) although the බප/මතු/Walagedara Maha Vidyalaya was included in the secondary school development project in year 2012, it has only received a technology laboratory;
(ii) although the school was included in the ‘C’ category of the project called “Nearest School – The Best School” in year 2016, it was not provided with any classroom building;
(iii) this school has not received adequate physical resources in the last
15 years; and
(iv) there are no teachers to teach subjects such as Music, Science, Sports and Physical Education and counseling and no teachers to teach Tamil to grade 6 to 9 classes ?
(b) Will he inform this House –
(i) the reason for not providing required number of buildings for this school where 1200 students are studying;
(ii) the time that will take to fill the teacher vacancies of the school ?
(c) If not, why?
