Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he admits that people of Badulla were subjected to immense pressure as a result of the Uma Oya Development Project;
(ii) if so, of the number of families affected by the aforementioned Project and the names of the respective Divisional Secretariat Divisions;
(iii) whether he is aware that a Supreme Court ruling has been issued stating that people affected by the aforesaid project be granted immediate relief; and
(iv) if so, of the steps that the Ministry will take to grant relief to people affected by the Uma Oya Development Project?
(b) If not, why?
