Hon. Jayantha Samaraweera,— To ask the Minister of Home Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of Grama Niladari Divisions available in Sri Lanka as at 31.03.2017;
(ii) separately of the aforesaid number as per each province, district and divisional secretariat division;
(iii) of the number of Grama Niladaris deployed in service as at 31.03.2017;
(iv) separately of the aforesaid number as per each province, district and divisional secretariat division?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the number of vacant GN positions as at 31.03.2017;
(ii) separately of the aforesaid number as per each province, district and divisional secretariat division;
(iii) whether a competitive examination has been held to recruit Grama Niladaris to fill the aforesaid vacancies;
(iv) if so, of the year in which the particular examination was held and the number of applicants who sat for the examination;
(v) whether an interview has been conducted for those who obtained the highest marks at the examination;
(vi) if so, of the number of applicants who appeared for the interview;
(vii) of the number of applicants who got qualified for the GN appointments; and
(viii) of their names and addresses?
(c) If not, why?
