Ministerial Statements
(i) Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education replied to the Question raised by the Hon. The Hon. Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education moved the Bill entitled
“Social Security Contribution Levy (Amendment)”
to amend the Social Security Contribution Levy Act, No. 25 of 2022.
Privilege
The Privilege motion that the question of privilege arising out of the matter raised by the Hon. (Mrs.) Chamindranee Kiriella, Attorney at Law, M.P. on 22nd July, 2025 in Parliament to the effect that his privileges have been infringed, moved by the Hon. Chief Opposition Whip, was referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges in terms of the provisions of Standing Order 118 of the Parliament.
Adjournment Motion
Adjournment Motion on “Matters highlighted in the Government Policy Statement which have not yet been fulfilled” was proposed by the Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha, Member of Parliament.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1802 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Friday 10th October 2025.
