Committee on High Posts approves the appointments of 04 new ambassadors, 02 secretaries to the Ministries and 02 Chairpersons of institutions

The Committee on High Posts which met recently in the Parliament has given its approval for the appointment of four new ambassadors, two ministry secretaries and two chairpersons of institutions.

Accordingly, the Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of Mr. W.A.U.P. Prerera as the new Sri Lankan ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Mrs. T.P. Dharmasena as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Poland.

Also, the appointments of Mrs. E.A.S.W. Edirisinghe as the new Sri Lankan ambassador to Thailand, and Mrs. P.A.P Ponnamperuma as the new Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar were also approved by the Committee on High Posts.

Apart from that, the Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of (Eng) R.G. Rubasinghe as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Highways and Miss. K.N.K. Somaratne as the new secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries.

Furthermore, the Committee on high Posts has approved the appointment of Mr. S.M.D.L.K De Alwis as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board and the appointment of Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma as the new chairman of the Sri Lanka Industrial Development Board.

Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena Chaired the Committee on High Posts and Minister Hon. Douglas Devananda, Members of Parliament, Hon. John Senaviratne, Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, Hon.  Thalatha Athukorala, Hon. Udaya Gammanpila and Hon. (Dr) Sudarshani Fernandopulle participated in the meeting.
